Polo Uniforms: Print or Embroider the Logo?
Polo uniforms are usually made from pique fabric — and that fabric directly affects whether a logo should be printed or embroidered. This page explains when to choose which.
Embroidering a polo logo
Computerized embroidery is the standard choice for a left-chest logo on a polo — durable stitching that doesn’t peel or fade like ink, and it suits pique’s textured surface well. See computerized embroidery and what is pique fabric.
When printing is the better choice
For a multi-color logo, a gradient, or detail too fine to embroider clearly, DTG or heat transfer printing fits better — embroidery works best with logos, text and simple shapes.
Cost: printing vs embroidery
Embroidery cost is based on stitch count (design complexity), not just surface area — a more detailed logo means more stitches. DTG printing cost doesn’t depend on the number of colors, but embroidery is usually still preferred for polos for its durability and premium feel.
