Computerized Embroidery

Computerized embroidery uses a machine controlled by a digital file to form a design out of thread directly on the fabric, rather than laying ink on the surface — giving precise stitching and high durability over time.

Why choose embroidery

  • Outstanding durability — the stitching doesn’t peel or fade like printed ink, suited to long-lived products (uniforms, caps, bags).
  • A premium, upscale feel compared to flat printing — commonly used for company and brand logos.
  • Unaffected by the base fabric color — the thread color is independent of the garment color.

Limitations to know

  • Not suited to gradients or extremely fine detail like a photograph — embroidery works best with logos, text, and simple shapes.
  • Large embroidered areas can make the fabric stiffer and heavier than a printed area.
  • Cost is based on stitch count (design complexity), not just surface area.

How embroidery is priced

Two logos of the same size can cost quite differently to embroider if one has more fine detail or more thread colors — cost is based on stitch count, not surface area. See the stitch-count pricing explanation for detail.

Embroidery thread

Startee uses colorfast thread that keeps its brightness and doesn’t fray through repeated washing — suited to long-lived products like office uniforms, caps and bags. For caps specifically, the fabric determines whether embroidery or heat-transfer vinyl is the better choice — see embroidered or printed cap logo.

Best fit: company uniform logos, caps, bags, products that need to hold up through repeated washing — see our uniform service for team logo embroidery.
