Sourcing custom uniforms from Vietnam: a buyer’s guide
Choosing where to make uniforms for a whole company or organisation is nothing like ordering a few one-off shirts: a purchasing team needs one accountable supplier for printing and embroidery, clear proof of origin for fabric and ink, and one stable point of contact from sample approval through delivery. This guide walks through that process step by step — who Startee is as a manufacturer is covered in full on our uniform manufacturer in Hanoi page; here we focus on how to actually source and place an order.
Certifications & safety standards
The Innobella ink used in our DTG printers is certified to the OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT standard — an international certification confirming the ink is free of substances harmful to skin, safe for garments worn close to the body and for children’s wear. For products bound for the US market, Startee follows CPSIA — the product-safety standard for goods entering the US — so uniforms made here also suit orders that need product-safety documentation for export.
What affects the price of a uniform order
The per-shirt price of a uniform order comes down to four main factors: the fabric (100% cotton, a CVC/TC blend, pique or cool-touch knit — see what fabric to choose); the quantity (the larger the run, the better the per-piece price, most noticeably with screen printing); the decoration technique (screen printing is cheapest for large low-color runs, DTG/DTF have no color limit but a higher per-shirt cost, embroidery is more durable and premium but priced by complexity); and the number and placement of print/embroidery spots on the garment. Spelling out these four factors when you ask for a quote gets you the most accurate price.
Payment terms & lead time
Startee has no rigid minimum order: we take orders from a single piece (samples, gifts) up to full bulk runs for an entire company, quoting per order. Corporate and bulk orders follow the same two-part payment structure as every order here — a deposit to start production, with the balance due on delivery and acceptance per the contract (see the sample-approval process below for exactly where each payment falls). Production time depends on quantity and technique: small print runs are usually 3–5 working days, while larger cut-and-print uniform orders run about 1–15 days depending on volume. For a rush order or a fixed deadline, tell us before placing the order so it can be scheduled correctly.
The sample-approval process
- Product simulation: send an idea or a design file, and Startee builds a digital mockup so you can picture the final product — or preview it yourself with the free mockup tool.
- Finalize design & fabric: choose the fabric, the print/embroidery technique, and get a cost estimate; for a corporate order you can sew one sample shirt to check the fit, fabric color and print quality on the exact fabric chosen.
- Production: with your deposit, Startee produces on the agreed schedule.
- Completion & payment: delivery, acceptance and final payment per the contract.
For a corporate uniform order, sampling before the bulk run matters especially — a small mistake in size or fabric color multiplies across everyone ordering and is hard to fix once production has started. See how to size a whole team and choose uniform fabric by purpose.
Quality control before shipping
Because the approved sample is the reference for the whole order, quality control before shipping means checking the finished batch against that same sample — fabric color, print or embroidery quality, and sizing across every piece — before it goes out. This is what "acceptance" in the completion step above refers to: you check the delivered goods against the approved sample and the contract before final payment, so any mismatch is caught before it becomes a problem for everyone wearing the uniform.
How to get a quote
When you ask for a quote, include a few details so we can price it accurately in one pass: the quantity (broken down per size if you have it), the fabric or a reference shirt, your artwork or logo file, where you want each print or embroidery placed, and your deadline. A complete brief avoids back-and-forth and gets you a firm price faster.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum order quantity?
There is no rigid minimum — we take orders from a single piece up to full bulk runs, quoting per order. The per-shirt cost falls as quantity rises, most noticeably with screen printing for large low-color runs.
Do you produce for export orders?
Yes. Our DTG ink meets OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT and products bound for the US market follow CPSIA, suiting orders that need product-safety documentation for export.
Can you work in English with foreign customers?
Yes — the hotline +84 943 903 866 is English-speaking, suited to companies and international organisations operating in Vietnam.
